Bringing back last season’s trout

It’s the middle of winter and March still feels like a long time away. What better time to look over pictures of last season’s fish.

It was with this thought in mind that I decided to bring back to life a trout caught by my friend Mike! This picture is the first of a new series of trouty portraits for 2017. Keep a look out for them soon.

Elephants in the Pantry

It’s the start of a busy couple of weeks for me. As well as exhibition preparation, I’m going to be at a wee craft fair at a local deli, Elephants in the Pantry.

It’s running as part of the continuing Grantown 250 celebrations on Saturday June 25, from 10am. There’s going to be lots of other crafters and the chance to sample some of the shop’s delicious food! See Elephants’ Facebook page for more info.

I’ll have lots of mugs and coasters, with my drawings of animals, birds and of course, fishing flies – lots to choose from. See you there!

Box of fishing flies

Been busy with the colouring in pencils, putting together a collection of pictures for the upcoming exhibition, Beyond Reasonable Trout. Think I’ll put them on some mugs too for that all important brew, after a hard evening’s fishing!

Beyond Reasonable Trout

The title painting for my upcoming summer exhibition at Grantown Museum July 2-10. Powering up through the water after a wee black fly, glinting in the light….. there’s a fight coming. It’s not a massive painting but it’s one that makes me smile.
