One last bothy!
Hands up who's been to this bothy?
This is Oban Bothy, but it's nowhere near Oban. It's actually at the eastern end of Loch Morar (which, fun fact, is the deepest loch in Scotland. Honest - Google it!)
As bothies go, Ruigh Aiteachain in Glen Feshie is at the luxury end. Renovated in 2017, it has two rooms, a stove and a separate toilet block. There are even reports of a "bothy host" who stays there on a regular basis and looks after the building.
Given their remote location, many bothies can be lifesavers in times of emergency. The Fords of Avon Refuge in the Cairngorms, is one that lived up to its name over its 50 year history.
Bothies aren't just for the Highlands - this is Tunskeen, one of several in the south of Scotland.
