The 23 squirrels from the Go Nuts Art Trail are off to new homes after being auctioned off at the weekend.
You’ll remember that I worked on two of the giant sculptures earlier in the year. They were on display in various places across the Highlands during the summer.
The sale raised a total of £28,200 for the Highland Hospice. I’m so proud to have been involved with the project. And I am delighted for the pupils at Grantown Grammar School, who worked on the Coo Squirrel. There was a bit of a battle for it in the end and I think it was eventually bought for £1,500 by a farmer.
The Boat squirrel is going back to Boat after it was bought by Graham MacPherson, who originally commissioned the design. It’s fantastic that it’s staying in the community that inspired it.
