This is a wee video of my latest commission that I wanted to share with you.

It was a present for an old friend who was celebrating his 50th birthday – that’s my second birthday painting this year.

There was so much to enjoy about this project. I loved learning about Spirtle the dolphin, who got her distinctive look after being sunburnt during a beaching. And there’s Spot the dog, and painting Craig at the helm. And the boat and the seascape – all these details tell the story. That’s what you’re trying to do with a commissioned painting.
